Interesting point. If you can't judge the religion by the actions of its followers, then what DO you judge it by? The words without deeds to give them meaning are nothing on their own.
If you only go by the words and NOT how they motivate people to act you can take any number of mediocre poems from the 60's and put them up against any religion you can name.
