Quote by: Paul Christians that say 'Jesus is Lord' are saying that Jesus is their 'commander in chief', the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings.
Jesus said, "You shall love the lord your God with all your heart, and all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself ---". > Matt.:22:37-40. "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say unto you, "Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you." > Matt. 5:43-44, "and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and to the evil." > Luke 6:35. --- "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; --- " > John 14:21-23. "Blessed are those who do His commandments"
Even Pres. GW Bush say that 'Jesus is Lord'. |
All of that is good to live by. I think we all should live that way but isn't that edict a "don't do as I do, do as I say"? It has always bothered me that we have these "commanments" to live by and if we don't God is gonna smite us instead of turning the other cheek. God has killed many of his enemies over the centuries or helped his followers to do so according to the bible.
To say God created man to worship Him is to say God needs something. If God needs something then it is to say God lacks something. If God lacks something then it is to say God is imperfect. If God is imperfect then it is to say we are doomed.
