| The idea seems most fair, and should enable strong limiting the power or rich lobbyists. However I agree that to expect a backing of 20% of the electorate to support a “new” party is somewhat high; a lower percentage should enable serious contenders and eliminate “cranks” though the extremes do provide a good means of monitoring the mood of the electorate.
I do not understand why any party would wish to pay for people to petition others, the party should have solid policies that volunteer campaigners can spread to the electorate. |
