Duane, I'm not going to argue organic/inorganic with you since it is no longer necessary for plastics to be burried in land fills to biodegrade. The Thermal Depolymerization process is now online and plants are being built as we speak. These plant can accept any organic compounds, including plastic, and by accelerating the natural processes of decomposition, generate a variety of new products.

We can now start digging up all those nasty landfills and start making useful products out of our trash. This is better than recycling.
