If Carter was a bad recent President, can you name a good recent President? Nixon? Reagan? Bush Sr. or Jr.? Those three alone have done more to damage the U.S. foreign policy, American Civil Liberties, the military and the justice system. Carter may not have been what you call an "active" President, but if being active means acting as most of our other recent Presidents, I think he was a hell of a lot more honorable for NOT furthering the removal of democracy and liberty in this country.

Nixon attempted to firebomb the Brookings Institute(a federal watchdog agency)to cover up his dealings in Watergate.

Reagan put into plans the official (and unconstitutional) "War on Drugs" and allowed the C.I.A. to run drugs covertly into the U.S., by downplaying the need of the U.S. intelligence services to be kept in check, and policed. Bush Sr. was right at his side, and a huge supporter of the "assasination" of Pablo Escobar, a Columbian who was "accused" of being the major part of the Columbian Cartel(later proven false). This program alone (war on drugs) has caused more harm to our international perception, as well as opened the door for unprecedented black ops being perpetrated solely by the Intelligence Services in the name of the United States, without the President even having "official" knowledge. I give you Columbia, Africa, Haiti, Iraq, etc, etc, etc!

Clinton led our troops into conflict more than any other President in U.S. history, and for what? Remember Somalia??? I implore you to read the official book Blackhawk Down, which is a factual recount, and one of the ONLY and most informative chronicles of that particular action.

Bush Sr. has set precedent as the most careless leader in our history, in my opinion. He led us to Iraq for WMD, then claimed it was to remove Saddam and the Bathe Party, then to Liberate Iraq, and now we are imposing OUR style of societal and governmental structure on them before we will STOP OCCUPYING their land. Wasn't he preaching about no new nation building in his campaign??? The Patriot Act is the most far reaching violation into American Civil Liberties in history, and is something a true patriot would wipe his boots on! Bush should be impeached.

I sincerely, and heartily recommend a little fact checking folks. I see a lot of partisan rabble that can't be substantiated with fact, and that is just propaganda. Analyze the parties, and their history, and it's obvious.

Also, before you go saying the patriot act is a blessing and all that rabble, I remind you of two things...
1) Ruby Ridge
2) Waco

"Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind.

And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto the leader and gladly so.

How do I know? For this is what I have done. And I am Caesar."
- Julius Caesar

Attention to history provides a very clear picture for our plan of the future.

Well, this is yet more evidence of the direction we are heading.

All new legislation moves away from freedom, and away from the constitution, in an attempt to reduce the power of the citizen. The very last sentence says it all. They want this law to stand in place of the constitution, which already covers this very subject. I believe that would be your Fourth ammendent rights being usurped, correct?

Also, this link, brought to light by Waco, which really tells a lot more of the story on the War on Drugs, and the governments "two" seperate stories.
