Sorry, that's untrue.
First off, he didn't write ANY of the books, they were all ghost written for him. Secondly, there's no evidence that his books have had any significant impact on gangs or gang violence. In fact, gang violence has increased since he has been in prison.
Besides, exactly what does writing a book have to do with atoning for murder? Did he give the proceeds to the families of his victims? Did he ever even say he was sorry for gunning down four innocent human beings?
Didn't think so.
