If it is to give money to the poor, then that is what he should call it. He specifically states he wants to give money to "faith-based organizations". I have no problem with giving money to help those in need. If I could afford it, I would start my own non-religious organization to help the poor. I do have a problem, however, with my tax money going to organizations that will try to convert people to their beliefs. I don't normally defend Bush, but the point of what he said is that right now the federal government can give money to any kind of charity EXCEPT faith-based. He's removing the bias and putting them on equal footing, not an elevated one.
