amana1man, I hear ya. I've had three places tell me, yeah, you have experience, you're our man, come on in, we need you. Then just played with me. Wal-mart tried playing with me like you said... wanted to pay $6.50 an hour to to stock work. Yeah, right. That was the only place that had offered to hire me and I have a bad back.
Get this... I was called into a pawn shop and told it was pretty much guaranteed I had the job since I have experience is sales, pawnbrokering, and customer service. I'd barely need training, I already knew what to do. Great. I don't drive, and it's like an hour by bus to get there. The guy told me to RIDE MY BIKE if I had to because I had this job.
Well I go out there, make a long story short, instead of hiring me, they hired the Puerto-Rican girl who barely spoke English, had no experience, and was complaining that she "didn't want to get dirty." Jesus Christ. Don't hire the experienced guy who's done this work before and was eager to begin as soon as possible, hire the bimbo who was afraid she might sweat if she works too hard and speaks broken English.
