Yeah, it's all the people's fault. Never mind that neither political party has shown any interest in pushing for improving the situation, or made any kind of serious effort to change our energy policies, it's the victims that are to blame. We all must realize that the average Joe should come home after his 8 hours at work, go down to his basement lab and work on more efficient engines and alternate energy sources.
You sound like a person that's not being too much affected by big oil price gouging, but I'll bet that's more the product of luck and circumstances than by planning and personal effort.
