Not to worry. You've fallen victim to a common confusion of definitions. Clinton was 'Impeached' by the House of Representatives, but that simply means that he was indicted, or officially accused. Impeachment is not the end result, it's the process. Once Impeached by the House, the President then went on to be tried by the Senate. If convicted by the Senate, the President could then be tried on criminal charges in a court of law, but Clinton was acquited by the Senate.
So when someone says the President was 'Impeached', what they're technically saying is that the President was 'Accused' by the House as part of a Constitutional process. He was then acquited by the Senate trial.
