Well your point is disproved.
At almost all ages, males had higher passenger vehicle occupant death rates than females. In 2001, there was no gender difference among people younger than 16. The difference was greatest among people age 20-24, followed by people age 85 and older. The death rate was highest among males age 20-24 and 85 and older, and lowest among males and females younger than 16.
