The coup and counter-coup of April were the result of a strike at the national oil company, Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA). On April 9, 2002 striking oil workers clashed with Bolivarian Circles outside PDVSA headquarters, resulting in the injury of at least 18 people (MSNBC/AP 10 Apr 2002).

Once order was restored, 2004 shows they only imported a mere 4% of their total, from Persian Gulf region:
http://www.eia.doe.gov/pub/oil_gas/p...mmary2004.html. So I shouldnt say they dont import ANY. To keep things in perspective if 1000 barrels equal 1 dead child then Exxon-Mobil killed 130,906, kids and CITGO only killed 5,976 children for oil in 2004.
Nearly one half of Exxon-Mobil oil comes from the Persian Gulf, Compared to 4% of CITGO.
As for
Sunoco (Locator Link) there is only one station in California (It will take me 6 tanks to get there and back) and there are no
Sinclair stations at all, in CA.
