| the US has plenty of 'chinks' in its armor, and in fact, if it continues on its current trend of economic policy, it has no other choice but to implode under weight of its debt.
The thing to take note of is that, tho it has been true of almost every other superpower in history, the 'next' superpower will not be gauged by its military might - it will be by its economic vibrancy. The funny thing about the Free Market is once a significant portion of the world's eceonomy is truly 'free market' the rest of the nations will be forced to do the same or be 'left in the dust'. Alot of significant changes in the world political landscape and the variety of different social-political systems... very interesting and scarey all at the same time.
Hope I am still around in 50 years... isn't it a chinese proverb that says 'may you live in interesting times'... or is that a curse?
