I just thought I'd post this from another site - written by someone who actually lives there in Caracas, Venezuela.

I don't think he is the leader of men you make him out to be. Just another seeker of power in South America.

The problem is that right now I have been looking for ways to leave Venezuela, but I hate the fact that I would have to leave my HOME for this a**wipe! However, I end up putting everything in a balance and the outcome of leaving outweighs staying. I got married 7 months ago and we´re surviving the best way we can! Everything costs 3 times what it should, and business wise, you better be well connected to some chavista ´cause they own everything right now! My father worked in PDVSA for 30 years and he was fired, his accounts through the company were frozen, his caja de ahorros shut down...his whole life down the drain. Everything he worked for, was taken away through "Alo Presidente" chavez´s tv/radio show! Along with him another 18000 workers were also "fired". Now as chavez says "PDVSA es de todos" and that´s exactly why we´ve more accidents in refineries, wells shut down and forever damaged, leaks in the Maracaibo Lake...because it belongs to everyone. The NEW PDVSA don´t have the education, expertise, and preparation to work there. When the "new" started to work in the offices in Caracas, they had to call german techs to come help them log in into the system the OLD PDVSA used which was SAP. These people took computers, furniture, printers...you name it, and did a "garage sale" in front of their offices with all that, giving it away basically for free, cause the poor need computers also. OK... I can work with that thought up to some extent... but these were top of the line technology used to generate a countries income, not to play solitaire!!!!! With the oil prices right now this man actually has a higher revenue than before, and they´re actually selling less than half than what we used to!!! It´s amazing, and venezuela in falling apart like never before. Since he took power, natural disasters started, hate grew, poverty grew, insecurity grew, unemployment grew, yet all he cares about is bitching to the US and destroying Venezuela´s democracy and of course try to get as many countries as he can to think the way he does about the US. PEOPLE THIS IS THE MAN THAT SAID THAT ALL LATIN AMERICANS SHOULD UNITE AND CREATE A UNITED ARMY TO FIGHT AGAINST THE IMPERIALISTIC WAR FRIENDLY AMERICANS??????? HELLOOOOOOOO?!?!?!?!? He is a threath to all nations! Por cierto como me gustaria poder irme, pero no es asi de simple, es muy dificil.
