| What's really most interesting about this is that it makes it clear that communism and capitalism can't peacefully coexist side by side. And it's not because the communists are ever going to be able to interfere with the capitalist markets as Chavez seems to be indicating is his goal. No, the capitalist market will have to make sure that communism won't be allowed to bring any of it's influence at all into the U.S. The only question is, how will the U.S. stop him and what measures will it have to resort to in order to stop him.
In some ways this is a similar situation to the U.S./Canada situation where healthcare is provided for everyone in Canada and some in the U.S. are going bankrupt because they can't afford the care and medicines necessary for keeping people alive and well. Granted, the degree of similarity is small only because Canada doesn't threaten the U.S. system nearly as much as Chavez is threatening to do. Canada will sell cheap pharmaceuticals to the U.S. but the drug companies are in line with that to a large degree because it only enhances their own profit.
This is a situation with Chavez that the U.S. will need to find a remedy for as soon as possible. It's only foretelling of some of the other measures that Chavez is capable of taking against the U.S. system, such as cutting the U.S. off from it's Venezuelan oil supply. Due to the U.S. being embroiled in a war that's going to last for a good many years into the future, the U.S.' hands are probably tied when it comes to dealing militarily with Chavez. And that's the reason that Chavez is taking advantage of his moment in the sun along with Cuba to twist the knife a little.
Of course the U.S. is totally in agreement with Robertson but can't come out publicly and admit that they are. How stupid of Robertson to blow the cover and admit what the real agenda is for Venezuela and Chavez. A crude guess for a solution to the Chavez problem would be a Cruz missile on his home but unfortunately that would be very visible to the rest of the world. Better an assassination pulled off by some group that's not readily traceable to U.S. interference. However having said that, a Cruz missile may not be out of the question due to the U.S. not being all that interested anymore about what the world will think of their methods. |
