Dear Mr. Speaker:
I am writing to draw to your attention a provision in the Energy Conference Report that raises serious procedural and substantive concerns. At its essence, this provision is a $1.5 billion giveaway to the oil industry, Halliburton, and Sugar Land, Texas. The provision was inserted into the energy legislation after the conference was closed, so members of the conference committee had no opportunity to consider or reject this measure. Before the final energy legislation is brought to the House floor, this provision should be deleted. MORE...... |
This is becoming more common. Cant we just execute the gangster that did this. As an example. That would send a clear message. I am opposed to the death penalty but this is different. You wanna bet nobody even gets arrested? Because there are no consequences, it will happen again, soon. We hear about guys getting stiff sentences for stealing a candy bar on a 3rd strike. But put on a suit and every thing changes, anything goes.
Our leaders are sending us a clear message: "Dont smoke pot, we will lock you up forever, but its OK for
us to steal 1.5 Billion"
