i have been reading a lot lately on some aspects of the patriot act which our country has been in the past been using to prosecute terrorists, the name being an acronym but standing for patriotism, that it somehow protects from foreign threats. the aspects that make me mad are these: the patriot act is now being used to punish methamphetamine producers and small-explosives users.

i am not condoning the use of either of these but it seems like the biggest joke and the biggest infringment on americans.

the federal government has decided that methamphetamine is now a chemical "agent" grouped with weapons of mass destruction like nukes and anthrax. this seems entirely outrageous to me. this is a total abuse of the act! meth labs are not terrorist cells. they should be dealt with by the proper authorities and not by the liberals on capital hill trying to get all of these post-9/11 movements to look like they are working.

also, a recent fool who detonated a pipebomb was prosecuted under the patriot act. it was an american male who was robbing a bank or something. this makes our country look like a joke people.

all of this shows that when our government cant make good use of our tax dollars and our voted-in initiatives, they start attacking its own citizens. these acts are not meant to go after junkies who really cant ascend to a level of legal work, or other criminals (albeit dangerous) who feel a need to use explosives.
