Further evidence that the adoption tax credit has nothing to do with marriage and is of questiionable value to children is that the credit
doesn't apply to adoption of a spouse's child.
And then, in another example of chicanery, if one qualifies for the adoption credit, they get to take it
even if the adoption does not go through.
And finally, the income ceiling for disallowing the adoption credit is a bit over $150k.
