A law prohibiting the theft or conversion for personal use of governmental records, Section 641 of Title 18, was used to prosecute J. Randel of the DEA in 2002. John Dean wrote explaining why Rove is in trouble with this law, which the Ashcroft Justice Department boasted was the tool it would use against leakers.
But don't worry. Bush can pardon anyone for anything. Bush doesn't care what harm is done, as long as it isn't harm done to those loyal to him. |
