Do you know who else may have been warned? Members of the G8? The British government? Israelis are an obvious target for terrorist attacks, so I'm not at all surprised they were warned that something may be up, along with other potential targets. You appear to be making an assumption that the Israelis were warned of a specific attack rather than a general threat that "something may be going on", and that the Israelis were the only ones warned. You don't know that. Spreading the warning that "something might be up" to the general public is a bit more iffy... as we know here in the U.S. from the variety of Homeland security warnings based on buzz that only managed to confuse and scare the public.
