| PETA just takes it a few steps further than the rest of us. We feel a kinship with all humans which prevents us (for the most part) from killing one another and pretty much precludes eating one another. PETA happens to feel that way about the entire animal kingdom. I might also, except it's too inconvenient.
My mother's been listening to Go Vegan Texas recently. I'm afraid I won't be eating much meat when I visit on weekends. She has good humor about it, though. She related how she'd told her therapist how Go Vegan Texas always talks about how every animal someone eats was running for its life. Her therapist responded, "No they weren't! They were cooped up in their little cages."
