| There's so many accusations to respond to... I'll just answer everything here:
If I were ordered to launch missiles into a village where there were innocent people, I would not do it, unless in some way that would save many more lives.
If an enemy who had murdered US soldiers was already prisoner and awaiting trial, I would not kill them without provocation, such as if they got out and tried to kill me.
I can't judge Henry VIII, I'm not going to be his judge. God's already done that. I don't know whether He's in Heaven or Hell now, but it's upon his own head. And I don't support the Church of England. I'm a Southern Baptist.
God doesn't cause bad things to happen, He can't. But he lets things happen. It's not His fault, it's ours. The world was perfect until Adam and Eve were tempted by Satan and refused to have faith in God.
If you don't believe in an omnipotent being, then why am I wasting time talking to you about anything else?! You can't sink into a deeper discussion without believing in the cause and reason for everything we're discussing! And that goes for everyone. If you don't even believe in God, then quit hassling me about everything else. And if you don't believe the words of the Bible, then you can't quote it as an argument.
People can see this in two different ways:
1. Yes, I have committed sins before. Many, too many to count.
2. No. God sees me as a perfect individual. I've been redeemed. Once forgiven of sin by Jesus
Christ, God has literally forgiven and forgotten. My name's written in the Book of Life. Is yours?
If ordered to shoot and murder someone in cold blood, I would not. And I would stop anyone, even my CO, from doing it unless it was in self defense. I wouldn't just go up to someone sitting there and shoot them. God put me here for a reason, and I've got to defend myself until my task is completed.
The Bible does say 'thou shalt not murder', but...
1. "And he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death."-Leviticus 24:17
2. "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be put upon them."-Leviticus 20:13
3. "And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast."-Leviticus 20:15
