| Well I used to be a conservative/communist/nationalist teenager.
Joined the army during the time of change. Half my platoon would read Mao Zhedong books in their spare time, the other half ran dotcom companies.
When I left the army I got caught up in the liberal revolution and started my own company. Then I became conservative/communist/capitalist/libertarian/nationalist.
Politically I'm a conservative by American standards and centrist by Asian standards. I support government authority in political matters, as long as the government is wise. When the government is corrupt, I'm not going to stand in the way of a revolutionary population.
Economically I am centrist by American standards and liberal by Asian standards. I support free enterprise, semi-free trade (you need some control to prevent major disasters), and reduced taxes.
Socially, I'm liberal by American standards, and shocking by Asian standards. I don't give a damn what anyone else does, as long as they leave me alone. Prostitution, homosexuality, gambling, drinking, drugs; if it's in your property, I don't care.
Ideological loyalty is the act of giving your soul to a vague concept, to be manipulated by people smarter than you. |
