I think that Mr. Vicchio has summed up quite a good list of rules... I think that covers everything. But seeing as we are all on the same page so to speak, I don't know how much debate will be going on in this forum...But I personally will be using this forum to 'strengthen' my convictions and basically learn more about what to say, and how to say it without sounding like an uninformed idiot.
For example, if I am in another thread, and the debate starts to get heated-I tend to, at times, shrink away from the arguement...thinking I am not knowledgable enough to take a stance. And then I continue to watch the thread, and people say the exact same things I am thinking. And then I realize that I am not the only conservative, and I don't have to fight a group of 20 liberals, all by myself. Basically, I only really started voting for elections during the Gore/Bush election. Because a close friend of mine let me know the importance of voting, and my boss threatened me...and made me register to vote. So although I am a firm backer of our President, and a staunch GOP supporter. I don't feel strong enough in my convictions to go up against a group of angry Liberals. I will be using this 'Conservative' forum to gain more knowledge, and basically have more backing for my beliefs, so I don't have to start every debate with IMO. Not that I am blindly following a group & hoping to belong somewhere. I have all the beliefs and thought processes of a Conservative, without the detailed knowledge of politics, and current events... I always feel like I will be outnumbered, and here I wont feel that way...And then hopefully in the future, when a coworker starts harping on how 'stupid' or 'evil' our President is, I don't have to shrink away and not say anything...Does that all make sense?
