| The Test of Knowing Jesus This post is mainly for Christians, because they say, "I know Jesus" For those that say, "I know Jesus" it be important for them to read 'The First Epistle of John'.
John was a very close friend of Jesus and what's written in 1 John is 'The Test of Knowing Jesus' Also there is The Gospel According to John and The Revelation to John from Jesus. Because John was very close to Jesus, it makes John's writings a very good mearsure in knowing Jesus.
'The Test of Knowing Jesus' ---> 1 John 3:8, "He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the begining, For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the 'works of the devil'.
On the road to Damascus, Saul was a wretched man and near the time his death in Rome he confessed to be a wretched man as written.in Roman 7:14-20 +24-25.
Paul writes,
--- "I of myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin."
--- "I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate."
--- "I can will what is right, but I cannot do it."
--- "I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I do."
--- "Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I that do it, but sin which dwells within me."
1 John 3:8, "He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the begining, For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the 'works of the devil'.
1 John 2:4-6, "'He who says, 'I know Him [Jesus]', and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. --- He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked"
I'd like your input on these questions, did Saul/St.Paul know Jesus as John knew Jesus? How does Saul/St.Paul fair on 'The Test of Knowing Jesus' according to John?
Peace be with you, Paul |
