Even Jesus must obey the (light) speed limit
Most people who read my posts would think that I am anti science. That is far from the truth! If we could know everything I think that 99 to the nt place of the supernatural could be explained by science! The Nt place is where the one God (the god that created our universe and the Intelligent Creator) lives.
My favorite area of science is the quantum field theory with a strong dose of classical physics, especially how they apply to the religious experience or everyday life. The natural world vexes me to the point that I have been attending night school to learn the advanced math needed to move forward in understanding the finer details of QFT.
I am a serious amateur astronomer and one might say amateur scientist. My day job is heavy with applied science. So it us a happy situation that I find myself in except that, I am also very religious. Some would say devoutly so.
One day years ago, thinking about the paradoxical effects of time travel, and the universe tweaking effects of QFT, It occurred to me that science explains religion and religion explains science! My world was coalescing at last , and everything , including God ,didn’t seem so out of sorts!
I happen to feel that the religions of the world are more accurate than current science in explaining some phenomena and "scientific" processes. You bring up a good point as to why Jesus or Luke Skywalker doesn't just appear and save human kind from all the pain and misery that this world has to offer! This is not as simple of a statement as it first seems!
I will take what the skeptics will say is the easy way out. This back door is called faith. I have the faith that God has a reason for dredging all of us thru the flour of earthly existence before frying us at Armageddon! And I have some concrete ideas other than faith but am not comfortable in relating these ideas yet lest they be supported by research and factual information, stay tuned!
Read your KJV of the bible my friend, The lukeSkywalker JESUS is on his way back here. Earth has a manifist destiny that demand his return. Judging by world events its going to happen soon. Jesus will return and save man from himself, by the time christ the ET, returns we will managed to have destroyed two thirds of life on this planet!…
Why hasten he returned yet? Maybe his time traveling star ship is at max velocity back here now, he has his petal to the metal, and after all ,we do live in a universe governed by natural laws…maybe even Jesus has to obey the light speed limit!

Oh and BTW my fave science fiction is the trekies TNG> to the next film. Stargate is OK but not my fav....surfin' the rift is great entertainment, its a 3-d type of thing ...on the sci fi channel ....all science fiction is very good for the soul.......
