Even if we dont find any aliens lifeforms out there we are on the verge of being able to create some anyway. So does it really matter if there are is the question. For example you travel to another planet and meet an alien analogue of a mouse. Sure its organs might be in different places but basically its a mouse. Big Deal.
The only time aliens get interesting is when we assume them to be intelligent and have wondrous technology light years ahead of our own in which case we would be pretty uninteresting to them unless they had some ulterior motive. The only time they will reveal them selves to us is if we suddenly develop decent space travel capabilities and we begin to 'invade' there borders in some fashion ie make a nuisance of ourselves. Up until that point they would do exactly what the rest of us humans would do monitor and try to sabotage any inventions that would lead to that happening.<hr size="1" /></blockquote><span class='postcolor'>
What if this rodent equivalent was a silicon based lifeform? Wouldn't that in itself be interesting? |
